Community Organizer Summer Intern Job Description – Impact Interns Program

(5 positions available)

Impact Hub Boulder

Organizational Overview: Impact Hub Boulder is a unique co-working and events space. We provide business resources, inspiration and connections people need to realize enterprising ideas for sustainable impact. We are a membership-based organization with over 400 members and 18 offices, representing a diverse and thriving business community in the heart of downtown Boulder.

Description: Our Summer Impact Intern Program provides top-notch training, networking, and education. We actively connect each intern with our community and are committed to assisting participants with their job goals.

The internship program will run 12 weeks, June 8th – September 1st. We require a commitment of at least 10 hours a week and a full summer’s worth of work. There is the opportunity for the internship to be extended beyond the initial date once intern program milestones have been accomplished. We prefer interns to stay for two semesters.

Qualifications:

  • A personal drive towards excellence.
  • Deep commitment to making a positive impact in the world.
  • A desire to be a part of a collaborative community.
  • Socially comfortable engaging with a wide variety of people.
  • A strong sense of collaboration and active contribution to being part of a bigger team.
  • Experience in running a service-based, retail-oriented business (restaurant, coffee shop, hotel, etc.) is a plus.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting with space care and upkeep. Including cleaning the kitchen to tidying up conference rooms and bathrooms, and trouble shooting Wi-Fi and printer issues.
  • Contributing to a best-in-class work environment that facilitates and supports our innovative community, through high-level customer service, and attention to detail.
  • Greeting and hosting guests.
  • Giving tours to co-working prospects.
  • Continuous review and improvement of standards.
  • Coordination and facilitation of team and member relationships.
  • Administrative tasks including writing, answering phone, spreadsheet tracking, etc.
  • Member relations and enlistment of member support and participation in Impact Hub events.

  • Manage and submit event reviews/surveys from participants.
  • Help with creation of cultural events for members and community.
  • Assist with creation of social media for events, sponsor and vendor promotion.
  • Help with RSVP management.
  • Create Facebook events.
  • Contribute and write copy for events newsletter.
  • Work with Managing Director on post-event feedback from event attendees.
