We were pleased to join with The Impact Angel Group to co-host the first Social Impact Fund Showcase on September 7th. Impact Hub Boulder member Leila B. Boulton, contributing editor to Private Wealth magazine, has published a detailed summary of the event, where five innovative Colorado-based funds gave their best elevator pitches to 22 accredited investors.
Speakers at the showcase included Robert Fenwick-Smith, founder and managing director of Aravaipa Ventures, Garvin Jabusch, who serves as chief investment officer at Green Alpha Advisors, Jim Ott, formerly an executive in corporate agriculture and CHINA-US Cleantech Fund co-manager, Fred Chang.
In her article, Impact Funds Overcome Doubts, Raise Money, Boulton shares Greenlite Labs’ plans to create an accelerator for “cleanweb” startups:
Managing director Duer Reeves told the audience that the accelerator will select eight to 10 promising ventures and put them through a 13-week boot camp to prepare for the rigors of pitching to sophisticated investors who can provide additional capital for the next phase of growth. Reeves said the minimum investment is $25,000, but $50,000 to $75,000 is more typical.
