Media and Marketing Intern

We seek applicants who maximize positive impact. We require a commitment of at least 10 hours a week for the fall semester of 2014.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Deepen social media engagement on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram according to the Hub tone. Maintain balance of  thought-leadership and Hub member promotion
  • Write and edit blogs about events happening at Impact Hub Boulder, member profiles, and community updates
  • Capture and tell the stories of Hub Members
  • Engage with Impact Hub Global marketing teams
  • Update Hub website calendar
  • Research and contribute to community events to include on Impact Hub Boulder calendar and identify appropriate external community calendars on which Impact Hub Boulder events can be included.
  • Work with Events and Program Manager and Event Intern to help with internal/external promotion of events and programming
  • Research relevant, interesting content to share
  • Assist in creating weekly newsletters (sent to over 2,000 people)
  • Analysis and metrics of media and marketing at Impact Hub
  • Attend occasional night events to photograph and report for Impact Hub Boulder channels

Key Skills Include:

Event Coordinator Intern

Description:

An energetic and focused team player to assist with event production, logistics, and strategy for Impact Hub Boulder. We are looking for a student that would like to develop their community building and organizational skills, build their network in the Boulder startup community, and become a member of our enthusiastic and vibrant community creating positive change in the world.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Commitment to Impact Hub Boulder at 10/hrs week maximum based on event schedules for fall 2014 and option to extend to spring 2015 semesters.
  • Support in all aspect of event production from working with the client to secure an event rental, pre-event logistics and planning, and delivery of the events
  • Create and deploy a sales campaign to reach more clients as an event rental space
  • Provide timely and relevant feedback to event rentals and maintain relationships
  • Assist with planning, logistics and support of Impact Hub Accelerate [Education] weekly course
  • Collaborating with media and marketing intern to produce interactive blog post about events
  • Maintain and oversee event RSVP’s, guest lists, and attrition statistics
  • Work with members and organizations in a variety of different roles and responsibilities
  • Help create office efficiency by planning and maintaining office systems, equipment, and overall positive environment.

Hosting Intern

Description:

Hosting is core to the success of Impact Hub Boulder. Hosts are responsible for creating and maintaining a healthy and productive environment for the most inspiring change-makers in our community. Hosts welcome members into the space, often being the first and last point of connection during a members’ stay. Hosts also represent Impact Hub Boulder to the broader community of change-makers at our own events, external gatherings, and virtually online.

We seek applicants who maximize positive impact. A highly qualified candidate will have an infectious and positive attitude, a deep commitment to customer service, strong self-awareness, a charitable mindset, optimism, and a long-term view of success. We are looking for 10 hours a week.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Commitment to Impact Hub Boulder at 10/hrs week for fall 2014 and option to extend to spring 2015
  • Welcome, greet and support members
  • Work closely with Hosts and Hub Staff to create culture and manage the Impact Hub Boulder space
  • Help create office efficiency by planning and maintaining office systems, equipment, and overall
  • positive environment (plants, food, water, coffee, etc).
  • Answering main phone line
  • Track overall space usage
  • Develop and support online and offline community
  • Engage and get to know members, learn their needs, priorities and skills
  • Ensure at all times that members have a clean, healthy, productive working environment, to include:
    • Keeping the kitchen-area sparkling and devoid of dirty dishes, spills, crumbs, etc.
    • Emptying compost, recycling, and trash bins throughout the day
    • Stocking supplies in the kitchen and bathrooms
    • Straightening tables and chairs in the open workspace and conference rooms throughout the day
    • Wiping down whiteboards as needed
    • Watering and attending to plants
    • Cleaning up infrequent spills/messes that occur throughout the space
  • Set-up and clean-up for events
  • Support the management team in all activities
  • Research and outreach to prospective community and organization partners
  • Work with Events Director to help with execution of events and programming
  • Contribute to Impact Hub Boulder team and community effort by accomplishing additional tasks as needed
