TJ McIntyre joined Beryl Stafford and Bobo’s as CEO in December 2015 with the mission of building the Bobo’s business and brand into a leading natural foods company that bakes simple, nourishing food. T.J. was previously the Executive Vice President over natural brands at Boulder Brands where he oversaw the acquisition and management of Udi’s, Glutino and Evol and grew the portfolio from $20M to over $400M in 6 years. Prior to Boulder Brands, he served as Brand Manager of Silk at White Wave Foods, leading up to its acquisition by Dean Foods. From 2005 through 2009, he pursued entrepreneurial endeavors in specialty tea and coffee, including co-founding Pekoe Sip House, a regional tea-coffee chain in Boulder, Colorado. Mr. McIntyre holds a BA degree from Michigan State University, and an MBA with a concentration in marketing and entrepreneurship from the University of Oregon.
Blake Waltrip began his career in corporate finance and investment banking prior to graduating with an MBA from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA. He went on to pursue a career as a consumer packaged goods marketing and general management executive. Blake successfully transformed several brands and pioneered the Nestle Beverage Company entry into category management during his tenure with Nestle USA. As VP Marketing and General Manager for Celestial Seasonings, a growth stage natural foods company, he and his team successfully grew the business by roughly 50% over a two-year period prior to the sale of the company. Blake’s background includes starting up a consumer focused e-commerce company as well as turn-around management experience with a European owned Consumer Goods Company. From 2002 to 2009 Blake was a partner in a Marketing and Business Strategy consulting firm leveraging his 20 years of experience successfully building and growing both mature and start-up businesses in various roles in marketing management, business development, sales management, and general management. In April of 2009 Blake returned to Celestial Seasonings as the CMO to provide the vision and innovation for the company to successfully drive growth while fulfilling the brands mission of being an environmentally and socially responsible business. In March 2013 Blake joined Quinoa Corporation (a private equity backed company) as the Chief Marketing and Sales Officer and transitioned to the CEO soon after joining in March of 2013. Quinoa Corporation is the first company to export Quinoa from Bolivia and makes a range of products under the Ancient Harvest brand. Blake recently took the position of CEO US for The a2 Milk Company based in Boulder Colorado.
Michael Joseph is the Founder and CEO of Green Chef. His love for food blossomed when he began cooking at the age of five. His father wrote legislation for food labeling, instilling a value for transparency around the food we grow and eat. After working as a professional baker and pastry chef, Michael realized his entrepreneurial spirit and headed west to Colorado — with 25 pounds of organic granola in tow. He co-founded his first startup in 2005: Door to Door Organics, an organic produce home delivery service. After successfully selling his shares in the company to his partner, Michael invested in himself and received an MBA from the University of Colorado Boulder. In 2010, he went on to found Mile High Organics, the first online fresh grocery retailer to be certified organic by the USDA. Yet, even with organic groceries at his doorstep, Michael found that he and his gluten-free wife were often a few ingredients — and ideas — short of a tasty, balanced meal. This daily dilemma led Michael to found Green Chef.
Lizzi Ackerman grew up in the Upper West Side of New York and envisioned herself becoming a doctor, not knowing she was destined to one day become Dr. Pancake at Birch Benders Micro-Pancakery. As Co-Founder & CMO of one of the leading pancake mix brands in the country, Ackerman is instrumental in the creation of the beautiful brand and plethora of flavors found in Birch Benders’ better-for-you pancake and waffle mixes. A visionary, branding guru, and master networker, Ackerman was recently inducted in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Class of 2017 in the Food & Drink category for her outstanding work in the food industry. At Yale University, while studying the history of science and medicine, taking pre-med classes, and serving as Senior Editor of the Yale Herald, Ackerman met Matt LaCasse, who would soon become her business partner and later her husband. Together they discovered their mutual love of flapjacks and bonded around the breakfast table, thus starting the beginnings of what would eventually revolutionize the pancake industry.
Darcy Wade began her career in the natural foods industry in 2011 with Evol Foods, where she worked until its sale to Boulder Brands in 2013. After two years, she left Boulder Brands to join an exciting new venture, Little Secrets, whose mission is to transform the chocolate isle with the most delicious candy-coated chocolate on the market, all without the artificial dyes or ingredients found in some of the leading brands in the space.
