Join us for a fabulous evening with Andrew Kassoy, cofounder of B Lab!

Like Jed Emerson’s talk last month, you’ll have a rare opportunity to connect directly with one of the giants of our emerging movement at an intimate talk and conversation on Tuesday, July 31st, 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Rally Software.

As the co-founder of B Lab, Andrew and his partners created the most widely-used metric system for identifying and certifying business-for-good.  They have been directly involved with the creation in seven states of the new legal form which allows company directors to consider all stakeholders — and not just shareholders — in decision-making.

Before leaving the private sector to form B Lab with two long-time friends and college mates, Andrew spent 16 years in the private equity business.  He is dedicated to growing innovative for-profit and non-profit models for social change. He is a Board Member of the Freelancers Union and the Freelancers Union Insurance Company, which provide affordable health insurance and other financial services to independent workers in thirty-two states; a Board Member of Echoing Green, a non-profit venture fund that provides seed capital to emerging social entrepreneurs; an Advisory Board member of Wall St. Without Walls, a non-profit which provides capital markets and investment banking expertise to community development organizations; and a member of the investment committee of the Patient Capital Collaborative, a venture capital fund for businesses that create direct social impact.

Andrew has worked directly with the US Senate, State Department, key investors and many others in building adoption of our values in more mainstream organizations.

Raised right here in Boulder, Colorado, Andrew is an active outdoor athlete, a challenge given his choice of raising his family in New York City.  He graduated from Stanford University where he was a Truman Scholar and President’s Award winner. In 2001, he was named a Henry Crown Fellow by the Aspen Institute. In the past, he has been active in Colorado politics and as a Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. This is not an event to miss!  Andrew can share his experiences

The discussion with Andrew will be wide-ranging, including the power of impact metrics in business, how social enterprise is being understood by the White House and State Department, how individual investors — and Wall St. — are coming to practice impact investing, what’s happening in the Colorado legislature, and much more.
